March 21st & 22nd 2020 - ' WALES 4 WHEELS FORWARD MYSTERY TOUR WEEKEND 2020'. - ! First Get together. We have done this for many years now and it is a really good trip in any car and a chance to get together and extend the season a little more. So here it is again, but better. This will be a two day event taking in some new roads. Hopefully, doing this nice and early will still give us the best chance to slip another one or two in somewhere else if the mood takes us. Don't knock it till you've tried it people, this is a real hoot and a most enjoyable affair, in any vehicle. It is a chance for those who fancy it to dig out your 4 wheel favorite, maybe grab the Mrs (or Mr) or even a mate and get out for a weekends 4 wheeled sightseeing with radio banter, on the best roads I know. Any vehicle with 3 wheels or more that is capable of completing the 400 mile ish without having to be pushed by others too much, will do the trick. So the plan is to meet up on the SATURDAY Morning at the Mc D's (SY13 1JZ) on the Whitchurch Bypass, where the A495 turns off for Ellesmere, at 9.45ish for a 10.00 departure, fuel up as you arrive and arrive much earlier if you want to take breakfast and have a chat. . We will then take to some lovely quiet A & B roads (Old and New).more info...

May 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th & 6th, 2020 (**5 Days**) - 'THE BTBC SCOTTISH HIGHLAND TOUR 2020'. - Welcome to the new 5 day format for the BTBC Scottish Highland Tour 2020. The plan is to meet up North of Carlisle at 09:30 on Saturday morning. We will then be away at 9.40am from the only services that were on the A74(North bound) (Now the new bit of the M6) north of Carlisle. The services or Todhills Rest area as it's now called, is now a Petrol Station {Shell} and a Costa Coffee, it's just after the old HGV weigh bridge on what was the A74M. From the meeting point we'll take an interesting and complicated route up through the Scottish Borders to then Cross the Clyde. Then it's over some stunning passes to our first Hotel. After a good meal and a wee drink and some sleep (Always a good night), we'll rise the next morning to head up the West Coast via a spectacular route to Applecross. Here we will spend the next two nights, giving us the opportunity for a day off, or to explore more of Scotland, a trip to Skye, Cape Wrath, or Loch Ness, all are within day-trip distance. As usual, we have already got permission to have a fire and party on the beech if the weather is good, so whichever of the two nights has the best forecast will become our annual BTBC Beech Party (Very special, weather permitting). For the first time, Tuesday we will take a new and interesting rout to include more gorgeous scenery as we head over t East for pastures new. Eventually, we will end up at our final Hotel for more food, drink and banter. Wednesday morning, after a relaxed breakfast, an hour or so in the saddle will see us in easy reach of Glasgow or Edinburgh well before lunch, for our early split and the ride home. This is a truly spectacular trip well worth the effort. The new format will allow us to visit new pastures as well as avioding the very long run home from Applecross, allowing people further south to easily make it back home at a reasonable time. This trip is always over booked and can only take a limited number due to the accommodation used. If you've done it before you know to be very quick. If you’ve not done it before you should make an effort to be quicker still and secure your place on this fantastic tour. Most of the roads we use North of the Borders are grin factor 9+..........more info

It will have all the very best from over the years, so don't worry, you will still get the chance to ride all your old favorite passes, including many of the highest and most stunning road passes in the Alps. But for this year, the plan is to take it a little more relaxed, after all, we are on holiday. But still with some stunning new stuff for the more adventurous amongst you. The trip will include many of the very best and highest mountain passes on route to explore our all time favorite corner of the Alps. This will without doubt be an excellent and enjoyable trip with plenty of new and old places to see, while having time to chat, drink and even get a rest. This whole trip will be a biking Nirvana, doing the best roads and passes while having a little more time for coffee, before we drink, eat and chill in nice hotels. September 13th, 14th & 15th 2019. - THE COAST TO COAST RUN 2019. - Those who can will meet Ben Friday lunchtime for the run into Whitby to hopefully give everyone the chance to join from anywhere and give a little more time to do the many great routes this area has to offer. However, if you can only join the run for one or two days please feel free to do so at anye meeting points. As Ben Wheble will be leading this run you will need to book your own accommodation at Whitby for the night of Friday 13th, and Hawes for Sat 14th September. Both towns have many B&Bs etc. plus there are camping options for those more hardy types. Some establishments are reluctant to book a single night, so book what you can if you see something and do it sooner rather than later. There is often space at the YHA's in both Whitby & Hawes with many choosing to stay there, along with Boggle Hole & Ingleton a bit further out. In the past, this event has been one of the highlights of the BTBC calendar. The roads used are amongst the best in the country. with little traffic and few revenue boxes. So, put this date in your diaries and join us for a big north ride.
