Scottish 4 Wheels Forward - Applecross or Bust -2020

September 25th to 29th 2020

As this is so early, I am taking £130 deposit to secure a place. Full payment due 3 months before the trip.

Welcome to the first ever Scottish 4 Wheels Forward - Applecross or Bust, Highland Tour 2020. We will meet up at 9.45, for a 10AM departure, at the Wetherby Services, Junction 46 on the A1(M), just after Wetherby, LS22 5GT where I will hand out a Walkie Talkie for each vehicle to help with directions and for general banter on the move. This is reasonably central with good motorway access for all and a selection of digs nearby for those who wish to stay over. We will then be away for 10.00am onto some lovely roads heading Northwest. Please fuel up as you arrive and arrive much earlier if you wish to take coffee or a breakfast. From the meeting point we'll take an interesting and complicated route up through Yorkshire and into the Scottish Borders to eventually Cross the Clyde. Then it's over some lovely roads to our stunning first Hotel overlooking Loch Fynne near Inveraray. After a good meal, a wee drink and some sleep (Always a good night), we'll rise the next morning, take a relaxed breakfast, then head up the West Coast via a spectacular route to eventually get to Applecross. Here we will spend the next two nights, giving us the opportunity for a day off, or to explore more of Scotland, a trip to Skye, Cape Wrath, or Loch Ness, all are within day-trip distance. We have already obtained permission to have a fire and party on the beech if the weather is good, so whichever of the two nights has the best forecast will become our hopefully annual 4WF Beech Party (Very special, weather permitting). Monday morning, after a relaxed breakfast, we will say our good-byes to the wonderful Applecross and take a new and interesting rout to include more gorgeous scenery as we head East for pastures new. Eventually, after a stunning drive, we will end up at our final Hotel for more food, drink and banter and maybe even a swim for those that fancy. Tuesday morning, after a relaxed breakfast, we will be heading south on another stunning route down through the Scottish Borders well before lunch, to eventually arrive back at our meeting place mid afternoon, giving all plenty of time to make it home in the day. This is a truly special and spectacular trip well worth the effort. This format will allow us to visit new pastures as well as avoiding the very long run home from Applecross, allowing people further south to easily make it back home in day. This trip will no doubt be over booked and can only take a very limited number of people due to the very special accommodation used. If you've done this before you know to be very quick. If you’ve not done it before, you should make an effort to be quicker still and secure your place on this fantastic 4WF tour. Most of the roads we use are grin factor 9+. As always it is strictly first come, first served with regard to rooms, so don't hang about if you are interested.
