Welcome back to the 5 day format for the BTBC 'Fabulous' Scottish Highland Tour 2024. **The plan is to meet up at the NEW MEETING PLACE, SCOTCH CORNER SERVICES PETROL STATION at 9am on Saturday morning. Please fuel up as you arrive. We will then head north west up into the borders. From the meeting point we'll take an interesting and complicated route up through the Scottish lowlands, to eventually Cross the Clyde to our first Hotel overlooking a lock. North of the Clyde. After a good meal and maybe a wee drink, we will get a good nights kip before we rise early for breakfast the next morning, to start to head up on a spectacular route to Applecross. Here we will spend the next two nights, giving us the opportunity for a day off, or to explore more of Scotland, a trip to Skye or Loch Ness, all are within day-trip distance. As usual, we have already got permission to have a fire and party on the beech if the weather is good, so whichever of the two nights has the best forecast, will become our annual BTBC Beech Party (Very special, weather permitting). Tuesday, after an early breakfast, we will take another interesting and spectacular route heading south, eventually arriving at our last Hotel in Scotland, for more food, drink and Scotland banter. Wednesday morning, after a relaxed breakfast, we take another interesting route which sees us back near our staring point late lunch for the split, leaving plenty of time for your ride home. This is a truly spectacular trip well worth the effort. Going back to the 5 day format will make it a little more affordable in these inflationary times, while still allowing us to cover the best Scotland has to offer. This trip is always over booked and can only take a very limited number due to reduced accommodation in Applecross. If you've done it before you know to be very quick. If you’ve not done it before you should make an effort to be quicker still to secure your place on this fantastic tour. Most of the roads we use North of the start are grin factor 9+. As always, it is strictly first come, first served with regard to rooms, so don't hang about and be disapointed.
