Sept 11th 12th 13th 14th & 15th, 2020 (**5 Days**)

This trip has been put together as a UK alternative for those booked on the recently cancelled Great Escape. However, we have managed to secure a small number of extra rooms, so a few places are open to all on a first come, first served basis, but you will have to be quick. The NC 500 has gained in popularity since its introduction back in 2015. Now considered on a par with Route 66 and the Great Ocean Road, we would argue it is far more exciting and entertaining than either for the Big Trail Bike rider, especially with a few well chosen additions that simply have to be added. We will pretty much see all of the best Scotland has to offer in one spectacular, old school road trip. So all the very best of what we love, with a huge amount of new, stunning roads and stunning coastal scenery on top, not one to be missed.

The plan is to meet up North of Carlisle at 09:00 prompt on Friday morning. We will then be away at about 9.15am from the only services that were on the A74(North bound) (Now the new bit of the M6) north of Carlisle. If you get as far as the M74 at Gretna, you've gone too far. The services or Todhills Rest area as it's now called, is now a Petrol Station {Shell} and a Costa Coffee, it's just after the old HGV weigh bridge on what was the A74M (ring or txt me if you want suggestions for Friday night digs on 07768 405222). From the meeting point we'll take a NEW, interesting and complicated route up through the Scottish Borders to then Cross the Clyde to our first Hotel. After a good meal and a wee drink and some sleep (Always a good night), we'll rise the next morning, take breakfast, then head north via a spectacular route to Inverness and the official start of the NC500. Then we head to our next Hotel on the North East Coast for another night of food, drink, laughs and sleep. After a good breakfast, we head further north to take in John o'Groats, then the most northerly surfaced road on the mainland as we head west along the North coast, taking in some less well known roads before eventually reaching our next Hotel in the north west for more food, drink, laughs and sleep. Our next day is a little more relaxed so after breakfast we continue south down the truly stunning west coast to take a lovely lunch at the very special Applecross Inn, After a good catch up and some stunning food, we continue south to our last lovely hotel on the west coast in time for a swim in the pool before food, banter, drink, laughs and sleep. After breakfast in this stunning location we take an interesting rout back over the Clyde before heading back through the boarders to split for home. This is a truly spectacular trip well worth the effort. The format will allow us to visit new pastures as well as completing the NC 500. , allowing people further south to easily make it back home in daylight. This trip can only take a limited number due to the accommodation used. Be quicker and secure your place on this fantastic old school BTBC road trip. Most of the roads used are grin factor 9+. As always it is strictly first come, first served with regard to rooms, so don't hang about.

To help protect against Covid, all the Hotels used are running Covid 19 complaint. They all have their own bar and serve food to residents to help cut down on any unnecessarily local exposure. Each person will have their own single room at each hotel and all will be required to bring an ample supply of suitable face masks, antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser for the whole trip in order to comply with local requirements and stay safe.
