The all new 4WF Dragon Rally Bonfire Night Bash 2023. Always a superb 4WF weekend away. For any one with a 4 Wheeled pet to exercise. Here it is, to extend our season of getting out in the lanes and getting together one last time in the year, call it an early Christmas doo lol. Don't knock it till you've tried it people, this is a real hoot in any vehicle and the roads are well chosen for the 4 wheelers.. This is your last chance this year to dig out your 4 wheel favorite, maybe grab the Mrs (or Mr) or even a mate and get out for a weekends sightseeing on the best driving roads I can come up with. Any vehicle with 3 wheels or more that is capable of completing around 400 miles ish without having to be pushed by others too much, will do the trick.
We are trying a new format this year. As many of you often take a hotel for the night before our trips due to the distance you have to travel, or just due to the fact that you like to extend your trip a little. We plan to meet up around 1pm on the Thursday for those that can make it and have a relaxed few hours in the lanes before our first hotel just over the border near Welshpool, in Mid Wales. The plan is to meet up at the RAVEN CAFE - NEXT-DOOR TO The Midway Truck Stop - Cafe, Prees Heath, Whitchurch SY13 3JT. Take the A41 south from the Whitchurch Bypass for 1.4 miles. The Cafe is just before the second roundabout, on the Northbound side, where the A41 meets the A49. Please be there on Thursday afternoon, no later than 12.45 for a 1.00pm departure. Please fuel up as you arrive. Then we'll take some lovely quiet roads to arrive about 5pm at our fabulous DIGS, just over the border, near Welshpool, in Mid-Wales. For any that cannot get the Thursday off, I can let you have the Hotel details so you can make your own way to join us later that evening. After what is always a good night for the 4WF gang, we will rise Friday, and after a good breakfast we will be on another nice route to eventually reach our next super digs somewhere in deepest Wales for more food,drink and banter before bed. Saturday morning we'll take a nice relaxed breakfast and then take another stunning route through Dragon country with lots to see along the way, before arriving at our final Hotel in good time for more food, drink and banter, as well as a good splattering of Fireworks to celebrate Bonfire Night, before bed. Sunday, we will take a relaxed breakfast before heading back towards the boarder using more well chosen drivers roads, before heading our separate way home after a lunch stop. The trip will use some lovely quiet roads (Old and New) with great views and lots to see along the way. We will eventually arrive back near the starting point at a reasonable time in the afternoon, giving all plenty of time to get home. As always, I will plan a nice quiet route with plenty to see, on the very best drivers roads I know for our 4 wheeled toys. I will sort the Hotels, which will have nice rooms, include breakfast, as well as having safe parking, plus good and reasonably priced food and drink. I will provide details and a professional Walkie Talkies for every car to help keep us all on the same road and allow for general chit chat and banter on the move!. Based on the last few years, it will be a fantastic doo, and the perfect opportunity to get out your other toy or get some motoring pleasure from the family 4, it matters not what you have, it is where and how you use it that counts, (really, we've had from Porsche's to 4 x 4's and even vans in the past and all have had a ball).
If any are struggling to get the Thursday off, then txt me and you can make your way straight to the first nights digs to meet us later that evening, or even meet us the next morning, if you can get near Welshpool for around 9.15am on the Friday morning!
